Inspired by Donna Karan New York's Fall 2011; Casual Luxe

"Comfortable, Sleek and Chic!"
Color Palette: Black, Gray and warm, muted jewel tones.
Who said that comfortable couldn't be chic?
This look is classy, feminine yet simple and perfect for fall and college life in Boston!
How to get this look:
The key to this kind of look is to keep it simple!

The first piece you'll want to buy for is an ever-popular Cowl neck sweater or sweater dress. Ideally you'll want to avoid knits with overbearing patterns and lean towards more muted colors; soft grays, burgundies and purples (think fall!). This sweater from H&M for $24.95 is a perfect example of what to look for. However, don't be afraid to try different materials! A comfortable jersey can work just as well for this look!

The original Donna Karen look sports black suede riding pants, but those are difficult to find and even more difficult to find at a decent price. One example of a replacement that won't put too much strain on your budget is a good pair of leggings. Now, normally, I'm not a fan of leggings. But this look is an exception! The key to pulling this off relies heavily on two things: the length of the sweater and the coloring and thickness of the leggings. Keep that in mind. H&M leggings for $12.95 are a great option! They come in a variety of different colors, but it's best to keep it neutral with classic black or gray (as shown), maybe even beige.

(H&M High Boots $39.95, H&M Leather Ankle Boots $39.95)
Cap this look off with a fantastic, classic pair of black boots! Ankle boot, knee high, heeled or flat, it's really up to you.

(H&M Imitation Leather bag $17.95)
Finally, to finish the look off, keep the accessories to a minimum but adding a favorite leather belt and/or leather bag would add personality!
Overall this look is sleek, chic and classy and completely attainable on a college budget. Each piece can probably be found at any of your favorite department stores and none need to be over 40 dollars! The pieces shown in this article are all from H&M and total just over $70 (no including the bag!), but feel free to shop around to find the best deals and don't forget to look through your own wardrobe first! Also, always remember to keep an eye out for sales! Clearance racks can be a girl's (and her wallet's) best friend!
