"Boardwalk Empire"

Another brilliant work shepherded by master filmmaker Martin Scorsese, HBO's series ‘Boardwalk Empire', is now in its second season. Having first premiered on September 19, 2010, ‘Boardwalk Empire' was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards for its first season, winning eight; including outstanding directing for Martin Scorsese.

Season 2 of ‘Boardwalk Empire' delivers major developments for the main character Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) and for several other main characters. The most prominent storyline involves Nucky, who is challenged by the betrayal of a great number of his supporters, including his brother Eli (Shea Whigham).

This new turmoil in Season 2 sets a new, darker tone and further promises even more interesting developments in HBO's hit series. We are three episodes into the season, and while the conflict has not grown into full bloom, it undoubtedly will soon.

In the third episode of Season 2, "A Dangerous Maid",Nucky is faced with another problem, added to his growing list. His enemies are attacking his supply lines, and now Nucky cannot provide liquor to casino owners. In addition to that, Al Capone pays a visit to let him know that Johnny Torrio will no longer be buying liquor from him. As Nucky's back is against the wall, he turns to Washington's new Attorney General, Harry Daugherty, to return a political favor. Unfortunately, he faces rejection. Furthermore Nucky receives additional bad news, as the Coast Guard seized the ships that were carrying his liquor.

Meanwhile, Margaret Schroeder (Kelly Macdonald)is in her own struggles, trying to find information about her family. She receives an envelope from the detective agency and discovers that her brother and sister from Ireland are now here. She attempts to reach them by making one of the members of her household staff call and ask for Peggy Rowland. However, after the phone call, the maid is told that Peggy passed away twelve years ago.

The third episode ends with Nucky going out to dinner with Margaret and Mayor Bader. Coincidentally, Nucky's main enemies, the Commodore and Jimmy, are meeting with the Governor at the same restaurant. Nucky, a typically calm and collected man, lets his emotions get the best of him and confronts the men in the restaurant while creating a public scene. The tables are set for the real action to take place every Sunday night at 9, with the next installments of ‘Boardwalk Empire'.
