The Study Part of Abroad

As we get nearer and nearer to the end of the semester we get closer to everyone's favorite week--finals week.   The most difficult part of this week will be not only studying and writing for my exams but also trying to balance that with saying goodbye to not only some of the best memories of my life but some of the best people I have ever met.  While sitting in the library today working on my final theater exam I realized just how different school is while overseas. Maybe its because for the first time in my college career every single one of my classes are enjoyable and directly related to my major.  Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed many of my classes at Suffolk but there was always that one random general education class that no one ever really wants to take....

The Price of Travel

One of the biggest things study abroad students take advantage of while overseas is the ability to travel, and cheaply! Before I left everyone was asking me if I planned on traveling around Europe and even more people kept on mentioning how cheap and easy it would be.  Now of course being addicted to travel and having a bucket list of places to visit, I knew I was going to be doing quite a bit of traveling but I must admit…I never expected this.  The first time you plan a trip is pretty terrifying.  Parts of it are so easy that you think you are doing something completely wrong.  I mean you just press a button and you get to travel to another country? An American in London

Now for those of you that don’t know, I am currently spending my second semester of my sophomore year studying abroad at Regents College in London.  It has only been one month, but I can already confidently say this is the best experience of my life.  When I think about everything I still want to do in London and Europe, four months just does not seem to be enough time.  As someone who is very attached to their family and friends back home I was prepared to have these weeks be pretty tough as I adapted to London life and tried to recover from the inevitable homesickness.  Surprisingly enough there was no effort needed.  Of course I miss everyone back home every day but Regents honestly goes above and beyond to make you feel at home here.
