Only four teams remain in the 2010 World Cup.

(07/06) Uruguay vs. Netherlands

Both teams have played great and were not expected to make it so far. One of these teams will be playing in the 2010 World Cup Championship game while the other team watches from home. Diego Forlan has led this Uruguay team to frequent success game after game but the key for Uruguay has been there defense. I don’t want to say that they don’t deserve to be here, but let’s just say they got lucky during their quarterfinal match against Ghana.

The Netherlands on the other hand have been impressive since their first game of the tournament, and they do not seem to be stopping anytime soon. In their quarterfinals match against Brazil they started off slowly but after their halftime break they came out with a great amount of intensity and completely shut Brazil down. I believe the Netherlands have what it takes to win the whole tournament, and Uruguay will just be another obstacle in their way. Netherlands win and advance to the championship game.

(07/07) Germany vs. Spain

After all the dust settles from the Uruguay vs. Netherlands game, the two last teams will battle to see who makes it to the final game. After Germany’s last game they look unstoppable as they murdered Argentina 4-0. Germany is playing terrific soccer on all aspects of the ball but this will not be an easy game for them.

Spain was (and still is) a favorite to win the whole tournament. They have so much talent on that team and they play so well together. They are extremely poised and comfortable which helps them dominate the ball and control the clock. They are fine with winning games 1-0 because they do not rush to score and they wait until the right time comes. Spain will be up for a test against Germany who scored four goals on a great soccer team. If you’re Spain you have to be concerned with Fernando Torres’ injury and you can only hope that he gets better soon. For now they have to rely on David Villa who has been a scoring machine. It’ll be a hard fought game where both teams give it their all and I believe that the winner of this game will go on to win the whole tournament. Spain wins and advances to the championship game.
