A Lion Wouldn’t Cheat on His Wife but a “Tiger Wood”

2/25/10 6:40 PM

As if Tiger didn’t have enough to deal with already, he just added some more drama to the list.  Tiger Woods addressed the media last week for the first time since the incidents happened (crashing the escalade and being accused of having affairs).  To begin with, Tiger Woods said he would only give his speech in front of an audience that he chose.  The first thing that caught my attention about Tiger Woods speech was how tired he looked during his speech.  After watching about 10 minutes of his speech I found myself to be confused and didn’t really understand what he was trying to prove/say.  The speech was completely pointless and it gave us no insight to any new information besides the fact that Tiger has a sex...

NBA All-Star Weekend

2/17/10 9:41 PM

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys organization are ready to host what is expected to be the biggest NBA All-Star Weekend of all time.  There is expected to be over 93,000 fans in attendance for the weekend festivities.  Yes I said the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA in the same sentence.  The biggest dome in the NFL is hosting the NBA All-Star weekend.  Just imagine how the view from the nosebleed seats will be looking down onto the court. Besides the fact that the festivities will take place inside the Cowboys dome, there are a lot of other things to mention about this weekend. To begin with I am not looking forward to this weekend for many reasons.  1.)     All-Star Celebrity Game – What is exciting about... 1 comment

Super Bowl XLIV Recap

2/17/10 9:39 PM

Better late than never right?  Another season gone as the Saints beat the Colts in their first Super Bowl appearance.  I thought that last year’s Super Bowl was the best I’ve seen (despite the victory of the Steelers), but the Saints and Colts proved me wrong on Sunday.  The game started off slow for the Saints as Peyton Manning drove his offense down the field quickly scoring.  When the half ended the Saints were still in the game as they were only down 10-6.  After the halftime show the Saints were ready to kick the ball off to the Colts as they caught the world by surprise and onside kicked it AND recovered it.  Needless to say the 2nd half of the game belonged to the Saints.  Drew Brees went 16 for 17 in...

Madden Curse?

2/17/10 9:37 PM

So for about the past 11 years we have heard about the “Madden Curse”.  If you aren’t familiar with it basically there’s a superstition that ever since they started to put NFL players on the cover of the Madden video game there has been a curse that causes bad luck to that player.  Now I’m not the type that believes in silly superstitions like broken mirrors, black cats, walking under ladders, and such but this “madden curse” is something to look into.  This is the general break down of the madden curse.  1999- Garrison Hearst.  This year Hearst suffered a broken ankle in the divisional playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons which required him to miss two full NFL seasons. 2000- Barry...

Boston Celtics tough upcoming schedule

2/17/10 9:36 PM

The Boston Celtics have a crucial amount of games facing them as they try to stay strong in the East.  Last night after leading for most of the game, the Celtics did what they do best (and blew the lead during the 3rd and 4th quarter).  Watching this wasn’t really surprising because the Celtics do a good job at losing games in the 2nd half.  What was surprising was Coach Doc Rivers decision on the defense.  The game was tied 94-94 with about 14 seconds remaining and the Orlando Magic had a chance to win the game since they had last possession.  Now somebody tell me, why would Doc Rivers put KG in the game on defense against RASHARD LEWIS knowing that Garnett has a bad knee?  Lewis easily walked right by KG to the basket...

Kurt Warner announces his retirement at age 38

2/17/10 9:32 PM

After 12 great seasons as an NFL quarterback Kurt Warner has officially announced his retirement from the NFL.  Warner is a two-time NFL MVP (1999, 2001) and has also been selected to four Pro Bowl’s in his career.  He also won and was named MVP of Super Bowl XXXIV with the St. Louis Rams.  I believe that Warner made the correct choice because he has proved himself to the league and it is time for him to step back and relax.  Warner has suffered many concussions throughout his NFL career and has taken many big hits (especially last week against the Saints).  He has done a great job as a quarterback and a leader especially in Arizona where he led that team to the Super Bowl last year and to the playoffs against this year....

Wizards Guard Gilbert Arenas & Javaris Crittenton suspended for remainder of the season

2/17/10 9:31 PM

On Wednesday afternoon, NBA commissioner David Stern decided to suspend Wizards guards Gilbert Arenas & Javaris Crittenton for the remainder of the season, as punishment for an incident in the locker room where they both displayed guns to each other due to a dispute. So what does this mean for the Wizards? Well unless they have a guardian angel they are most likely done for the season. The Wizards are currently in 14th place out of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference with a sorry record of 14-30. Now the team will have to try to function without their star Gilbert Arenas. Maybe Arenas' absence can be a good thing for the Wizards and perhaps they can improve, highly doubt it though. I believe the punishment was a great idea by Stern because this is sending...

NFL Pro Bowl

2/17/10 9:28 PM

There will always be some things that you just may not understand in life. The Pro Bowl is one of those concepts that I can’t seem to grasp yet. We have all heard the commercials stating, "For the first year on the Sunday before the Super Bowl ...." The NFL decided to move the Pro Bowl from Hawaii to Miami this year and they have also decided to move the date to the week before the Super Bowl instead of the week after. The change in date could have been to attract more fans since nobody cared about the Pro Bowl when it was the week after the Super Bowl. Good try guys but we still have a problem. The Pro Bowl is still irrelevant. One reason that it was bad to move the Pro Bowl to before the Super Bowl was because players like Peyton Manning and...

Kurt Warner set to announce his future in the NFL on Friday

2/17/10 9:25 PM

After suffering a 45-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints and taking a hit that sidelined him for a few, Kurt Warner is planning to announce his future in the NFL on Friday. Warner has had a great career in the NFL as he nearly won the Super Bowl last year and reached the playoffs again this year. After having a successful career in the NFL I think it is fine for Warner to retire. This season he has proven to be a great quarterback but he doesn't need the physical abuse of playing football while he could be relaxing with his wife. Maybe Brett Favre should take Warner's lead and do the same. After confusing the league all off-season with his retirement then deciding to come back, Favre ended his season throwing an interception that cost the Vikings a shot at the...
