NBA Playoffs First Round Predictions

4/18/10 4:15 PM

The NBA Playoffs where anything is possible. Here are my first round predictions  Eastern Conference: (1)     Cleveland Cavaliers vs. (8) Chicago Bulls – This is the perfect season for LeBron James to win and Chicago is just a road bump on their path to the trophy.  LeBron is ready to finally win a championship and the additions of Shaq and Jamison will definitely help the Cavs in the post season.  The Bulls have a good team but there is no way that Cleveland is losing in the first round.  Cavs win series 4-0 (2)     Orlando Magic vs. (7) Charlotte Bobcats – Throughout the season the Magic have established one of the most versatile teams.  To me they look like one of the...

The Wonderful Weekend of Sports

4/6/10 11:05 AM

March is officially over, but the madness continues as I recap the weekend in sports.  Hopkins vs. Jones: Despite the old age of both boxers, this was a fun boxing match to watch.  When these fighters first fought each other 17 years ago, Roy Jones Jr. defeated Bernard Hopkins by unanimous decision.  Leading up to this fight there was a lot of tension and that showed at the weigh-in when Jones gave Hopkins an Easter basket full of products old men use suggesting that Hopkins doesn’t have what it takes to beat him.  Jones was quoted saying, “he couldn’t beat me then [1993], and he can’t beat me now”!   The fight proved Jones completely wrong as Hopkins began the fight landing more punches then Jones....

Easter "Fun-Day" Sunday

4/1/10 1:37 PM

This Easter Sunday won’t only be full of chocolate, bunnies, and eggs; for Boston sports fans it will be a day full of joy or misery.  LeBron James and company are invading the TD BankNorth Garden for a 1:00PM game.  This season the Celtics are 1-2 against Cleveland but this may be the biggest test for them thus far.  As the season approaches its end, the Celtics are in a battle with the Hawks for the 3rd and 4th spot in the Eastern Conference.  Regardless, both teams are going to make the playoffs but seeding is important because it indicates what team they will be playing.  A win for the Celtics against the top seed Cavs would be crucial but I do not see it happening.  Boston fans don’t worry because when one...
