How do you think the Celtics will do in these 4 upcoming games
The Boston Celtics have a crucial few games coming up as they try to stay strong in the East. Last night, after leading for most of the game, the Celtics did what they do best - and blew the lead during the third and fourth quarter. Watching this wasn’t really surprising because the Celtics do a good job at losing games in the second half.
What was surprising about last night's loss was Coach Doc Rivers decision on the defense. The game was tied 94-94 with about 14 seconds remaining and the Orlando Magic had a chance to win the game since they had last possession. Now somebody tell me, why would Doc Rivers put KG in the game on defense against RASHARD LEWIS knowing that Garnett has a bad knee? Lewis easily walked right by KG to the basket and hit the easiest lay-up with 1.3 seconds left to win the game for Orlando. The win by Orlando puts the Celtics at 1-2 against the Magic.
Truthfully I think Rivers is a bad coach and does not discipline his team enough to play the whole game and win. Instead the Celtics frequently take the lead early and then let the other team come right back and win it during the second half.
Anyhow, the Celtics have a few tough games ahead that will tell us a lot. Tonight the Celtics play the Atlanta Hawks for the fourth time this season. The Hawks have beaten the Celtics in the three previous games and are going for the season sweep. Could it happen again or can the Celtics finally beat the Hawks?
The next big game they have is on Sunday against the Lakers. The Lakers are a Western conference team but a win in Boston could definitely hurt the Celtics standings in the Eastern Conference.
Another big game coming up is against the Miami Heat (currently ranked 6th in Eastern Conference) on Feb. 3. The Celtics are capable of beating the Heat but be careful with D-Wade and company trying to move up in the standings.
Finally the Celtics get to see if they are the real deal as they face off against the Cavs (currently ranked 1st in Eastern Conference) on Feb. 25th. The Celtics have beat the Cavs in their only meeting this season so LeBron and company will be looking for revenge.
I’m not saying that Celtics are a bad team because they certainly have great players, but it will be interesting to see the results of these games and if the Celtics move up or down in the standings.
