On Memorial Day, fans had a chance to see Stone Temple Pilots at the Mohegian Sun Arena, one of their first shows together since 2000.

However before walking through the casino to the arena, fans felt as if they had it hit big on the roulette table. Lead singer Scott Weiland had been sent to jail for drug-related problems and everyone was worried that the show wouldn't go on as planned.

(The jail sentence? Three weeks - but he was only in for a day.)

In typical STP fashion, they kept the fans in suspense, in the dark. One by one, the band members came into the darkness, Weiland coming out in his cowboy hat and Aviator sunglasses. Then they come out with "Big Empty" and "Wicked Garden" back to back.

It's a experience to see Weiland's metrosexual style of dancing and his use of the bullhorn in their songs, but as Weiland started stripping down people were in a bit of a shock.

He looked awful.

He had bleach blonde hair to his eyes but the upper left side of his head was completely shaved. When he would talk he would mumble and in the crowd fans were mumbling things such as "Yep, he's back on the smack." Although he was barely coherent, he was putting everything he had into his singing. He was belting out everything and his voice was CD quality.

The Deleo brothers were glad to have him back on the stage as they were all playing as one, especially on some of their biggest hits like "Plush" and "Interstate Love Song" and Guitar Hero 2 famed hit "Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart".

After ten or so of their best hits, they get off stage. Ten minutes later they got back on and Weiland got on the blowhorn, belting out "Dead and Bloated." It was then and there that he had the crowd going absolutely berserk as he went into the front row.

After two more songs, the band embraced and all seemed happy in the STP family... for now. As their fans know this might be the last time they're together if Weiland doesn't get his act together. But at least for one night in a casino, things worked out. One can only imagine how great they can truly be if they're all on the same page and that performance proved it to every single fan.
