Papadopoulos steps down, Suffolk searches for new soccer coach

Nick Papadopoulos has roamed the sidelines as the Suffolk University Men's Head Soccer Coach for the past seven seasons, posting 61 victories over that span. However, when the 2008 season begins in September, the soccer team will see a new face in the head coaching ranks and Papadopoulos donning a new title within the program. Papadopoulos announced his resignation as head coach last week due to personal reasons, thus beginning an immediate search for a new head soccer coach.

For many in the Suffolk community, remembering to refer to Dr. Nancy Stoll as the Vice President for Student Affairs may take some getting used to, but the change is worth noting after the Dean of Students for the past 20 years received a promotion this past April. Suffolk University President David Sergent welcomed Vice President Stoll into her new position by commending her "exceptional leadership in our campus life and student service programs for the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sawyer Business School.

Oh, Freshman orientation, how we remember thee: hiking from one welcoming event to the next, becoming acquainted with other newly-graduated "adults" at two in the morning at the 150 Tremont dorms, and savoring that first surprising morsel of gourmet Sodexo cafeteria food. Okay, so I personally never experienced summer orientation here at Suffolk (us spring-semester freshmen enjoyed our glorified two-day tour of the campus), but at least I know what's happening. And some of it is pretty interesting stuff.
