The Center for Entrepreneurial Studies supports and recognizes the promising ideas of its students.
Take recent, picture-sharing program Instagram: initiated fall of 2010 in its San Francisco, California headquarters and currently operates with thirteen employees.
After two attempts at success, moguls Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger had a simple idea, where they chose to improve and simplify the editing and uploading of photographs. Instagram was sold on April 12 to social network giant Facebook, Inc. for $1 billion.
As part of the “1st Annual Entrepreneurship E-Vent Recognition Awards,” a selection of students were awarded monetary prizes to assist with legal, accounting, and mentoring aspects to benefit the steps to moving forward with their products and ideas in the ‘6th Annual Suffolk $60K New Product Innovation Competition Winners.’
Laurie Levesque PhD, Associate Dean and Dean of Undergraduate Programs, announced the winners after three rounds, and narrowed down from over 300 entries.
