The Suffolk Mock Trial Team is headed to The 2012 American Mock Trial Association Championship Series for the first time in Suffolk's history. The Suffolk group earned the honor after placing 8th in the Boston Regional Competition that took place February 24th-26th, hosted by Boston University. A total of 25 teams from the greater Boston area competed in the regional competition, with the top 8 moving onto the first round of national events.

The first national series consists of 192 teams from 24 regional tournaments all across the country, broken up into 8 brackets of 24 schools each. The top 6 schools of each of these brackets will move onto the National Championship Tournament. Suffolk's historical first championship series event will be held at Pace Law School in White Plains New York on March 10th and 11th. Other Massachusetts colleges in Suffolk's bracket include: Wellesley, UMass Amherst, Brandeis, Tufts, and Boston University.

Suffolk senior and Mock Trial Team Captain Huy Le said of the accomplishment, "As a captain of the team, I couldn't ask for anything more from my fellow Mocklettes. They have spent a tremendous amount of time and effort to get where we are now. It was a true pleasure to watch every single member develop as the year progressed. Although it was not easy, everyone played a pivotal role in achieving our goals that were established last year."
