The Cardinals shocked the Patriots, the Saints are the only NFC team without a win and the San Diego Chargers are off to a surprisingly warm start. All these happenings resulted in three new teams entering the top ten in this week’s power rankings.
NFL Power Rankings: Week 3
32. Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2): The Jaguars only managed 52 passing yards against the Texans. Nothing else needs to be said. -RT
31. Cleveland Browns (0-2): Although Brandon Weeden had a much better game than his debut, Adam “Pacman” Jones’ 81-yard punt return exposed another area of concern for Cleveland. Must learn how to tackle! -AD
30. Tennessee Titans (0-2): CJ2K may not even be CJ1K. In two games, Chris Johnson has carried the ball 19 times for 21 yards. -RT
29. Kansas City Chiefs (0-2): The Chiefs are having trouble scoring in the first quarter which is allowing opposing teams to jump out to early leads. -AD
28. Oakland Raiders (0-2): Darren McFadden is a game-changer, but Oakland has decided to revolve their offense around gunslinger Carson Palmer. The Raiders have thrown the ball on 73.4% of their offensive plays. -RT
27. Miami Dolphins (1-1): Reggie Bush went back to his USC days, rushing for 172 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday. Don’t expect that to happen every week though. -AD
26. Minnesota Vikings (1-1): The Vikings are more confident in second year starter Christian Ponder and the stats have showed – 75.8 completion percentage, 515 passing yards and two touchdowns. -RT
25. Indianapolis Colts (1-1): Adam Vinatieri for the 53-yard FG … and it’s GOOD! You’re welcome, Andrew. -AD
24. Cincinnati Bengals (1-1): Even in a win, Cincinnati’s defense made Brandon Weeden look like a pro bowler. -RT
23. St. Louis Rams (1-1): Sam Bradford outperformed RGIII, but keep an eye on Steven Jackson who was pulled from the game with a groin injury. -AD
22. Buffalo Bills (1-1): C.J. Spiller looks like he is surfacing as the first round pick Buffalo hoped for when they selected him in the 2010 NFL Draft. -RT
21. New Orleans Saints (0-2): May I have your attention please? Will the real Drew Brees please stand up? I repeat, will the real Drew Brees please stand up? We’re going to have a problem here. -AD
20. Washington Redskins (1-1): With linebackers Brian Orakpo and Adam Carriker out for the season, the weight on RGIII’s shoulders has significantly increased. -RT
19. Carolina Panthers (1-1): Not only is Cam Newton leading the team in rushing yards, he also has the Panthers ranked eighth overall in passing yards. -AD
18. Seattle Seahawks (1-1): The Seahawks never win pretty, but Sunday’s win against Dallas was a beauty. -RT
