Ideology

The Conscience of A Suffolk Liberal

When one voice rules the students
Just because they're top of the income bracket
Doesn't mean their vision is the clearest
The voices of the students are falling on deaf ears
As student politicians become resume builders

They must declare their interests
And use our student activity fee to fund them
Is there more to a seat in SGA than sitting on your ass?
And the best of all this bullshit
Is that the students will never be heard
Above the sound of their ideologies clashing

Outside Donahue, the patient students who put them into power
Expect a little more back for their activity fees
Like inclusiveness, equity and equality in our exclusive time
But, all they get is students playing politics
Who've built their resumes on the things they can rely
The President, the Vice-President and the old school lie
For Sargeant, Stoll and the trustees all above the students
Are all things they justify
Above the sound of their ideologies clashing

God bless the SGA, the University's saving grace
While we expect inclusiveness
They're laughing in our face
And although our cries get louder
Their laughter gets louder still
Above the sounds of the ideologies clashing

Students: Try out your voice. Vote the suits, lies and partisanship out this week. Vote for Common Sense. Vote for the Student body, not the administration.
