Rajon Rondo

Rajon Rondo, fresh off a 5-year $55 million deal, is vital to this team's success.

Who do our games depend on? Rajon Rondo? Paul Pierce? Kevin Garnett? At the moment the Celtics have one of the most balanced out teams in the NBA. There is no ‘one player’ that carries the team. Each player has their own skilled quality that adds to the success of the team.

Paul Pierce has always been an underrated player. It may be true that he has shown to be slowing down this season, but that is because there is no need for him to overdo himself having Garnett, Rondo, Allen and new member Wallace at his back. Nevertheless, he continues to show his leadership skills, having scored the highest amount of points in Wednesday’s game.

Kevin Garnett seems to be having an amazing season as well. Picking up all of Rondo’s assists, this duo gives the crowd the hype it needs and the players the motivation and energy needed as well. I cannot fail to mention that seconds away from half time against the Hawks, Garnett shot the basketball from ¾ down the court and made it in. Unfortunately, the shot did not count because he released the basketball after the shot clock stopped.

Eddie House, Ray Allen, and Kendrick Perkins continue to perform as well as last year, if not better, during the amount of time that they are put in the game. As for our new member,  Marquis Daniels, he seems to be doing extremely well. Daniels came in for pretty cheap money, and has excelled in his role off the bench so far this season.

On Wednesday night, a popular player seemed to be praised. The crowd was filled with “30” jerseys and every time he came on the court all you could hear was “Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeed.” I am talking about none other than our new addition, Rasheed Wallace. He made 8 points during the 16 minutes that he played, including two three pointers and one steal.

On Sunday the Celtics travel to New York to play the New York Knicks. Let’s hope that our players can rebound after the tough loss to Orlando, and continue to show the solid performances that they have shown in the season so far.
