Week of November 26th:

  • We would like to welcome the Ice Hockey Club Team and the Interior Design Association (IDA) to the Suffolk University campus!
  • We would also like to invite student to President McCarthy's Inauguration reception at 1:30 in 73 Tremont 

Week of November 19th:

  • We wish you all a great holiday. Be safe!

Week of November 12th:

  • SGA would like to thank everyone who came to Mac & Cheese hour in the lobbies of Donahue and Sawyer. 

Week of November 5th:

  • SGA has been addressing issues that came up during our meetings about: elevator issues, library spacing issues and internet issues. 
  • SGA Senators will be attending the Annual Oxfam Hunger Banquet this Wednesday at 12m. Make sure to log into SUConnect to get more information and to RSVP!

Week of October 15th:

  • Career week is this week. Make sure you are tuning in to their events!
  • Committees have been meeting to address the goals of this semester
  • Carol Leon is no longer the SJRB Liaison for the class of 2015, it is now Jake Pitochelli

Week of October 8th:

  • No updates, Strategic Plan was presented in C. Walsh by President McCarthy. 

Week of October 1st:  

  • Suffolk SUPERS were approved finances so they can attend their National Conference.
  • Model United Nations were approved finances so they can attend their National Conference.
  • Yancy Brown is elected as Finance Committee Liaison.
  • After the retreat, SGA came up with some goals to work on during the school year. Some of these include:

-A ‘Take the Stairs’ initiative that would relieve student traffic in the academic building elevators.

-Supporting our student athletes and their Suffolk teams.

-Making more high demand textbooks available on reserve.

-Bringing more newspapers to the academic buildings for student use.

  • We will continue to keep you updated on the status of all these goals throughout the year, along with all the others.

  • Elections are over, here is a list of the newly elected 2012-2013 Senators

-Class of 2013: Ulrich Dossou and Guy Christian Cayo

-Class of 2014: Johnny Beksha, Isatta "Icy" Coomber, Jenny Trieu and Chuyi Luo

-Class of 2015: Dialis Molina, Carol Leon, Tyler LeBlanc, Eric Ramirez, Dzenita Cifric and Lauren Haffner

-Class of 2016: Kevin Wong, Matthew Gifford, Benjamin Linares, Sean Egan, Alyssa Perry, Colin Loiselle, Aldiana Mujanovic, Audrey Kozlov and An Wang

-Senators-at-Large: Kingsley Njoku and Paul Ayala

-Commuter Senator-at-Large: Theresa Stevens

-Residence Hall Senator-at Large: Gustavo “Tavo” Faria

-Diversity Senator-at-Large: Yao E. Awanyo

  • The Student Government Association board members, Executive Board members and President all took the oath conducted by Dean Stoll on Thursday.
