It has been recently discovered that the chic clothing store, H&M, places real model heads on computer-generated bodies for their advertising.

Swedish press officer, Hacan Andersson, confessed, "We take pictures of the clothes on a doll that stands in the shop, and then create the human appearance with a program on [a] computer".

This, in my opinion, is completely preposterous.  Were the models' bodies, whose heads were used for the photo-shoot, not skinny or perfect enough for the H&M outfit look?

I was even more concerned and disheartened about this issue when H&M spokeswoman, Nicole Christine, discussed on ABC News, that H&M is not the only store that enacts this method.

The heights of fashion looks have gone way too high.  Gone are the days when you could be happy with your pant size and eat red velvet cupcakes whenever you feel like it.  Snack indulgences are replaced by trips to the gym, liposuction, bulimia and anorexia, as well as South Beach diets.  I, for one, know I would never give up my snacks, so I would fail at this unhealthy task that too many girls feel they must embrace in today's culture.

The Barbie psyche: tall, skinny, and long straight hair has been adapted by our society as the must have body look.  It's seen it on billboards, magazines, TV and in movies.  As much as you may want to, you cannot escape this body-perfect image.

Girls strive to maintain this look, and some even develop serious eating disorders.  It is scary how far girls will go for fashion, as well as the measures they will go to look their best.

What happened to natural beauty?  It has gone out the window, replaced by fake, plastic mannequins on store websites.  We are deceived.  Even real models cannot model the clothing right, apparently.

This image that girls look up to and worship is unhealthy.  Models should be admired because they are naturally beautiful and brilliant without having to do anything to their bodies.  But when even the models are replaced, think about how they must feel: they do not even fit the status quo of "perfection", and they are the models themselves!

I am a dedicated shopper at H&M, and have been forever.  I am extremely disgraced in these shameful actions that they have performed.  What message are they trying to send to shoppers?  That no one will look good in their clothing except fake computer-generated images of the perfect body that does not even exist?

Every store should be using actual human beings to model their clothing, because they are the ones who are buying the apparel

Models of all sizes should be utilized when photographing, because girls and guys of all sizes shop at H&M.  There are few people who are even as skinny as models in the first place, so it is naïve to use models who have bodies that look like twigs, in general, to model any clothing.  This sends out an unhealthy message to the public, making people feel worse about their bodies.

Let's get real, H&M!
