Alright girls, its almost Christmas time and that means parties galore. So, time to break out the classic smokey eye right? Wrong! This holiday makeup trend is all about glitter!

Instead of a sultry dark look this season, soften up for New Years with a neutral look and a pop of sparkle! It is very important to lay down a cream base or a primer for this look to give the sparkle something to cling to and so it will not crease.

Before covering the eyelid with the glitter, cut the crease (the line of the fold to your eyelid) creating a defined ‘v' in the outer corner to keep the classic smoked effect, with a deep to medium shimmer brown eye shadow (try Glamour Check! by Mac).

Now time for the glitter: either apply the glitter wet or gently pat it on your lid to avoid fall out. Apply a generous amount of translucent powder underneath the eye so it is possible to wipe away any fall out.

Another fun part to this look is that you can add even more dimension with a pop of color on the lower lash line. Try a deep green to embrace the holiday spirit or contrast your gold lid with a silver lower lash.

Complete the look with eyeliner and a pair of fake eyelashes if you're feeling extra bold and highlight your inner corners and brow bone.

For the face, rosy cheeks that make you look like you just walked inside from a cold day and nude glossed lips will take a backseat to this eye-catching (see what I did there?) look.

Now you are ready to strut your stuff and catch someone to count down the New Years with! Happy Holidays Everyone!
