Lately the weather may not be able to decide if it's ready to prepare for  spring, but that doesn't mean that wardrobes have to be stuck in the same limbo and this coming season it's all about streamlining femininity   A look like this one from Dior's Spring 2012 Ready to Wear collection is easy to take from the runway to real life.

For the skirt, take the inspiration from small, monochromatic print.  The hound's-tooth skirt from H&M is a great choice and so is this skirt from Forever 21.  Both give a feminine spin to simplistic, geometric patterns.

To make this outfit appropriate for going to class, pull out your favorite black button down, like this one from Target, and roll the sleeves up to make them ¾ length.  Then add a loose, comfortable white sweater like this one from H&M. For something a little more evening appropriate that'll show some more skin, try pairing the sweater with a black lacy tank top instead of the button down.

For some definition at the waist, don't go crazy with an oversized belt.  Aim for something smaller like this snakeskin belt from Old Navy.  It's really is more of an accent than a statement piece.

To finish off the look pull out your favorite neutral toned or white strappy sandals. Anything from stilettos, to wedges to gladiator sandals can work with this look and can even help change it from daytime to an evening look.

As usual, the trick to really being a frugal fashionista is remembering to always go ‘shopping' in your own closet before you hit the boutiques.
